A recently refurbished, contemporary house, Baia Azzurra has a superb terrace and its own flight of steps down to the sea, with a private platform on the rocks which you can swim from! The sea here is clear, and a beautiful deep blue. Internally the house is airy and bright, and has everything you will need for a relaxing holiday.

Baia Azzurra enjoys wonderful views over the Gulf of La Spezia in the Ligurian sea, and of the imposing Castello di Lerici which stands guard over the harbour and main piazza of the town. The bay is also known as the Bay of Poets, after Byron and the Shelleys, who lived in this area. The scenic mile-long promenade along the sea front is a popular place for the evening passeggiata, which you might like to round off with an Italian ice cream on the main piazza.  There are plenty of pavement cafés and restaurants in Lerici: Liguria is the home of pesto and is known for its excellent seafood, so eating out is sure to be a delightful experience!

To the north of Lerici is the Cinque Terre with its Sentiero Azzurro walking trail that connects five villages along the coast: the easiest way to get there - and also to lovely Portovenere - is by ferry from Lerici. To the south is the Versilia coastline and the famous larger resort of Viareggio: for a change of pace the historic cities of Pisa and Lucca would both make excellent day trips from this Liguria holiday villa with private beach and sea views.
