Italian farmhouse with pool- Located in the hills some twenty minutes north of Lucca, in the little hamlet of Aquilea, lies the Podere Valentina. This charming property is an attractive barn renovation designed in a typically Tuscan style with wood beamed ceilings, terracotta flooring and stone archways.
The considerate owners have paid careful attention to detail in the make up of the property, for example with antique original furnishings and wrought iron beds.
It is just a few minutes to the centre of the hamlet of Aquilea for basic provisions at the local shop, whilst the elegant town of Lucca is possible in twenty minutes. For an opportunity to experience the local ' cucina Toscana' , the nearby town of Ponte a Moriano offers good eating in its trattoria and restaurants.
For sightseeing further afield, Florence is reachable in just over an hour, Pisa in thirty minutes or alternatively a days sunbathing at the beach on the fashionable Tuscany coast is approximately forty minutes. The spa town of Montecatini and its golf courses are accessible in approximately thirty minutes. There is a covered patio area with facilities for al-fresco dining. The property enjoys great views and has well kept gardens. There are lots of shady areas to find a spot to relax in!
Approximately fifteen metres from the main house is a small annex that guests are free to use. It is not of the same high quality as the Podere Valentina but offers sound, comfortable accommodation, perhaps most suited to teenagers or overnight guests. It has a double bedroom and a twin bedroom, small kitchenette, small living area with TV and a bathroom.
