Villa in Puglia - Bozzanino is a restored Trullo sleeping six persons, set on hillside near the town of Cisternino with lovely views of the surrounding countryside. In a peaceful location, the villa is accessed via a winding country road and electric gates. The Trullo itself consists of three bedrooms, one double with its own Trullo style bathroom next door with shower; a further double and a twin bedroom which shares a shower room. The kitchen has been decorated with colourful tiles from the Sorrento region, giving it a bright, summery feel. Alongside the characteristic stone fireplace is a wooden dining table, seating up to six people. The living area tastefully combines the exposed stone work of the original Trullo with soft comfortable furnishings and a 32" flat screen TV. From here patio doors lead directly out to the swimming pool and gazebo.
The salt water swimming pool has been designed with a tasteful and convenient beach-style entry, so one can gently glide into the waters for a refreshing swim or choose to relax in the shade from the poolside gazebo.
Cisternino is a beautiful hilltop town, surrounded by endless plains of olive groves. The town has a picturesque historical centre, completely closed-off to cars, making it perfect for strolling around and exploring. The buildings are characterised by external stone staircases that connect the various floors of each house, typical of the 16th and 17th century architecture in this area. Wandering through the alleyways, you will come across the beautiful clock tower in the main square, several stunning churches and the remains of a Norman tower, Porta Grande that once marked the entrance to the town.
Cisternino is particularly famous for the excellent steak available in a variety of rustic Osteria (simple restaurants serving home-cooked food). In some, it is even traditional to select your steak before it is cooked. Since Puglia offers a fabulous selection of full-bodied red wines, such as the Primitivo and Salice Salentino, there is a no shortage of good vintages to accompany these fine dishes.
