Description With an elevated hillside position, this is a rustic, welcoming house decorated in a traditional Sicilian style, just a short distance from beaches and the town of Cefalu. Surrounded by juniper, oak and pine trees and with various Mediterranean plants, ' La Barella' enjoys a panoramic location, with excellent sea views. The property has exposed wooden timbers, hand made tiles and is decorated in a neutral, light fashion. There are several outdoor seating areas (covered) including an attractive covered barbecue terraced area. There is other seating with dramatic views, including as far as the Aeolian islands on a clear day. The nearest sandy beach is just 3 kilometres away, whilst there is a rocky beach a little closer. The attractive town of Cefalu (which is nearby) is worth a visit; narrow streets, churches and baroque architecture are offered as well as facilities such as banks, shops and restaurants. Further afield is Palermo (60 kms); the best arrival airport. There are tennis courts within 3 kms and golf with 20 kms. |
