Villa in Sicily near Agrigento - La Granata is a modern villa located on the edge of the small town of Licata, on the southern coast of Sicily. This well maintained and comfortable holiday house offers superb sea views from the sun terrace and is just a short walk from a sandy beach. The living room opens onto the terrace, which is well equipped with outdoor furniture and a barbecue for open air dining, whilst the spacious bedrooms have wrought-iron beds and attractive, coordinated fabrics. The property does not have a pool, but there is a sandy beach just 50 metres away!

You will find everything you need, such as banks, shops and restaurants, in nearby Licata, which was once part of a important trading route but is now a fishing village. The town hall has artefacts on view dating back to the Roman-Greek era and a statue of the ' Madonna col bambino' . There are also various churches, museums and Liberty-style architecture on view throughout the town.

For a memorable day out, you might enjoy visiting Agrigento and its famous Greek temples, a short drive away along the coast road. Another place well within range for an excursion would be Piazza Armerina, which has some of the best Roman mosaics in Europe. You can find wonderful ceramics in the town of Caltagirone. And whilst in Sicily, don't miss the chance of trying some of the island's  specialities such as cannoli and sfinci (sweet pastries), savouries such as panella (chickpea cakes) and the famous arancini, and cheeses such as piacentinu and pecorino.

There is a small cottage to the rear of the property, approximately 10 metres outside the grounds, but this is infrequently used. It has its own access independent of La Granata, but does slightly overlook the house.
