Cefalu is a lovely seaside town with a sandy beach. You have a good choice of restaurants here. If you want to stretch your legs, why not go up to the top of the Rocca - the mountain crag that overlooks the town: the amazing views of the coastline are well worth the climb. Slightly inland, between Cefalu and Palermo, is the Madonie National Park, a huge protected nature reserve of mountains, fields, orchards, vineyards, olive trees and little towns. One unspoilt medieval town you might like to visit is Gratteri, just 13 miles away.
