Casa Licata would make a great base for exploring much of what Sicily has to offer. The villa itself offers peace and quiet and lovely views of the surrounding countryside: agriculture is very important in this area and you will see a lot of citrus groves. Close to the little town of Licata are long stretches of beach where the white sand contrasts beautifully with the crystal-clear sea. Licata is a typical Sicilian town, with narrow cobbled streets and plenty of restaurants and shops. Agrigento, one of the most important archaeological sites in Europe, is just a short drive away and would make a wonderful day trip from this villa.
