This town boasts thermal spas - waters which are scientifically proven to be therapeutic and curative: why not take advantage of their relaxing properties for yourself during your holiday? And if you're looking for gifts, the town has been noted  for centuries for the quality of its glassware. 

There are so many wonderful places to visit nearby. No-one will want to miss seeing the remarkable towers in the historical hilltop town of San Gimignano. The local Vernaccia wine is worth sampling and you could buy some of the local hand-harvested saffron as a souvenir. If you appreciate Italian literature you will certainly want to visit nearby Certaldo to see the house where the famous medieval writer Giovanni Boccaccio was born.

For the days when you fancy going to the beach, the Tuscan seaside resort of Cecina would be a convenient option: alternatively you might like to head further north to Viareggio. All in all, this would be an excellent base for a holiday to suit all the family.
