Italy villa walking distance to restaurant - Casa Villaggio is a beautifully restored Tuscan farmhouse with a private pool in the Mugello, just to the north of Florence in the foothills of the Apennines. The property enjoys a picturesque position next to a medieval church with bell tower and a Palladian villa. There is also an excellent restaurant and cafe within a few minutes' walk of the property.

Part of Casa Villaggio dates back to the 13th century when it served as the original church. It has been sensitively restored with a striking mix of contemporary and period furniture, effectively combining comfort and style. The landscaped garden provides day-long sun and shade, the large private pool is surrounded by comfortable loungers and the furnished gazebo is perfect for enjoying the delightful views. There is a private south-facing covered terrace, providing welcome shade for al fresco dining or choose from a number of other dining areas around the garden. Breakfast under the fig tree in late August is a special treat!

The surrounding area of the Mugello is where many Florentines come to holiday and is largely undiscovered outside of Italy. Nearby Scarperia is an ancient hilltop town well known for its bespoke cutlery and battlements. The Mugello autodrome is a short distance away for motoring enthusiasts!  The real pleasure is a day trip into the city of Florence itself, about a 40-minute drive away.
